Part-Time Business Manager – to start September 2019

The governors of Great Tew Primary School are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person to become the new School Business Manager. The role will be part-time, two days a week (equivalent 16 hours) or a more flexible arrangement could be considered to meet the needs of the school and the successful candidate.

Great Tew is a small, successful rural primary school located in one of Oxfordshire’s most beautiful villages. This is a new post, so offers a successful candidate a rare and exciting opportunity to join our highly committed and forward thinking senior leadership team, and develop the role to its full potential.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has experience of working within a school setting.
  • Holds an NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification or experience relevant to school business management.
  • Has effective communication, negotiating and influencing skills, including the ability to present written and verbal information to a variety of audiences, including governors.
  • Is a pro-active and innovative in their approach to school business management and development.
  • Is an effective team member.
  • Can demonstrate effective leadership.

Part-Time Teaching Assistant in Reception Class – to start September 2019

We are currently seeking to appoint a part time Teaching Assistant from September 2019, initially to work in our Reception Class. The ideal candidate will be energetic and committed to enriching the development of our youngest children. We offer a child-centred, planning-in-the-moment approach, which requires initiative and the ability to understand a child’s next steps. Working closely with the class teacher, the appointed person will work with individuals and small groups and will be required to spend time in the outdoor learning environment. The post also involves half an hour per day lunchtime supervision.

Teaching Assistants are a valued and integral part of the learning team at Great Tew and their important role is recognised by teachers, children, parents and governors.  The work is varied, interesting and extremely rewarding.

The person appointed must be reliable, flexible, able to use initiative and work as part of a team. We would love to meet caring people who want to make a difference to children’s learning and wellbeing. Enhanced DBS checks and references will be required in line with our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.
